Long Time Coming

Ok long time since we have updated this section of the site, but there are plenty of reasons for this!

So let me try and keep you all updated on what’s been happening these last few months with [AAO]

Catch Up Time

Console Gaming

So while we have been busy and not updating this site, we have been battering away at the Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on the ConsoleGaming Summer Ladder.

We have been battling away with other clans to make ourselfs known and also to have fun within the ladder. Currently [AAO] are on 11 Wins and 5 losses which right now is great for the team and our morale and we are still fighting away to get more wins. However although we may be sitting in 29th place, we will be aiming to be above or to be in the 25th spot. So keep an eye on that one folks…

Recruitment

[AAO] Have also brought in new members that have made the squad look alot stronger and alot bigger. We have recruited members from other clans who left and then joined us and without them, the team wouldn’t be as strong as it is now!

We are still recruiting at the moment however please take notice that we DO NOT recruit for Battlefield: Bad Company. The game does not support clans so it is very hard for the clan to be active so therefore we do not play on Battlefield: Bad Company. We are still recruiting for Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, however we are looking for skilled players and only a few more players can fit into our squad.

So if you wish to be in [AAO] please, head over to the “Join Us” tab and fill out an application form and we will get back to you as quickly as possible.

Affiliates

[AAO] has been busy trying to look for Affiliates and Sponsorship for ourselfs, however, although the sponsorship will be practically impossible until we start LAN tournaments we have managed to pick up an affiliate that does a few clans here and there. They have kindly given us discounts on their sales that they do and this is a start of many more to come.

Website

Ok most of you can see for yourself that the website has not been updated since a few months ago, well unfortunately our Web Admin (RichJoke) is currently still settling into his new life and new job. With this new job he is currently under a have work load so we apologise for the Website not being up-to-date but i can assure you that the site will be updated eventually.

However, Richjoke is also currently working on his own project for clans and a website for this. You will hear more about this as it comes ladies and gentlemen!

In Other News…

Projects

Currently Rozzap (Leader) and UKBraderz (Member) have been doing a games show on a website called BlogTV. At the moment its a very small time thing, however they bring you news on gaming, views on gaming and discussion that brings gamers together. This runs ever Sunday night at 9pm. BsE (Bitta Somethin’ Extra) - In the last news I wrote I told you that they were heading to XL5 in a tournament that they entered. They managed to reach the semi-finals of this tournament which was unlucky for them, however they were beaten by the tournament champions and they took them to extra rounds every time so they were very unlucky! (Unlucky Lads!)

X-8 (Xray - Also in the last thing I wrote, I told you that they will be getting a new site. However at the moment the site has not went live yet because of complications and changed to the site. They will have it up live soon as everything is now in its final stages! http://www.xray-8.co.uk

CoR (Circus Of Renegades) - This clan was started from a mate of ours TheEvilKlown. However at the moment they are in a spot of bother and we wish them well and hope that they can sort everything out and go back fighting strongly.

Trouble with Games

Well after deciding to go onto BFBC (Battlefield: Bad Company) most people bought the game. However DICE & EA decided that they would not add private games into the mix and this caused a major upset with all clans across the world as this meant no clan battles until they decided to add it.

Since then, they have came out and issued a statement saying that they will start to work on a patch that will include clan support that would help all clans to continue with their clan battles. The fear among the community is that it could take months to develop and get out so until such times, AAO have decided we will go back to a game that is still popular with clans.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

We have decided that we will go back to the Summer ladder that ConsoleGaming will be hosting. We will be on these ladders until the game BFBC supports clans. We hope that we will be challenging the very top spot for COD4 and we look forward to playing all clans on this game.

Double Trouble

Well its getting close for he time when everyone starts packing their bags and usually going to a nice hot, sunny place. Yes, HOLIDAYS!!!

However for clan action this can be annoying, as people are missing. However in AAO not many members are leaving the scene and this could be quite good for our COD4 roster. However I (Andy Mc, Co-Leader) will be leaving for the sunny place of the Caribbean and will be out of action for 3 weeks. So in place of me, allymc-1 will become temp. Co-Leader to keep the clan rolling without any problems.

We also have Richjoke (Web Admin) out of action as currently he is going through the process of moving house and going into a new job. So you may notice that the website may not be up-to-date but this is because Richjoke is currently busy with his life ATM which we respect and we wish him the best of luck and when he has eventually settled in, hopefully then he can work on the site.

We have closed recruitment. All applications that have been sent in before today and that have been accepted will be trialled.

If you send in an application after this date we will not look at it until we are opening recruitment again.

Well, back in history there was a mad gold rush in America. However this time, its for a game.

Battlefield : Bad Company

We have moved through the HAZE as clan members decided that it wasnt the game for them and we dont want to have unhappy players now do we? So we put up a vote and most of the clan voted for BFBC. So as the day comes closer to when it comes out, our minds become more focused on the game.

Once again we want to be challenging the top clans in Europe for that spot on the top, it will take alot of determination and skill, but we do fight Against all the odds now. We have also made a new captain and tactics co-ordinator for this game and all the info is within our forums.

In Other news……

Our Rainbow Six Vegas 2 team has went into a tournament that guarantees them £100 which would is great and we wish them the best of luck with that. They will fight Agianst all the Odds for a chance of winning more money.

We also have a new recruitment officer which will work along side allymc-1. He has just joined the clan from a “rival” clan and loving life in [AAO]. Sniper2010 if course, and he will do a magnificent job in recruiting.

With Haze being released on 23rd May, AAO are now gearing up to rule the CG ladders.

In other news, AAO now has a new application form, to make it easier for prospective clan members to become part of our team. So, if you’re looking forward to Haze like us, then feel free to post an application, and we’ll get back to you if it’s good enough!

Well as usual for clans we have moved onto the new and exciting game. And looking forward to compete against the best clans in Europe against Console Gaming.

Leaving Behind

Even though most of us have left behind COD4, some people wanted to stay on and battle it out there for AAO. This comes to hand and some AAO members will be battling against clans on COD4 in the quad ladder on Console Gaming. We wish these members the best of luck and hopefully they can bring some respect back from this, maybe even sneak to the top 5.

The New Comer

The rest have moved on to the new game of the anti-terrorist unit of Rainbow Six as they continue their fight in Vegas. This game being Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas 2. AAO will be competing in on this game on Console Gaming. As always we aim to become one of the top clans and land ourselves in the top 10 of the ladder against some of Europe’s best. This game takes team-work, skills and tactics and also a level of stealth to conquer the game and we believe we can do this and become a strong team. With different type of game modes AAO have been practicing for these so we have knowledge and tactics for each mode.

Welcome to the new Against All Odds [AAO] website, everybody! From now on, this will be the ‘cover’ for all things related to our clan. At the moment, you can view member profiles, submit an application to join the clan and read about what games we are playing. Combined with the recent release of the forums, we hope this will serve both existing members, regulars and potential members alike.

The Website

The most community-driven feature of this website is the news system. Certain members will be able to write posts (just like this one), explaining the latest happenings in the clan, to keep everybody up-to-date. As a web designer myself, this has been my side project for several weeks now. It has been a great experience working with Rozzap and Andy, making sure we get the look-and-feel just right. Although there’s enough to be looking at for now, I have several ideas on where I’m going to take this site in the near future.
